The outdoor landscaping designed for the smoking area of the Las Vegas Games venue was conceived as an elegant and coherent extension of the building's architectural identity, transforming a functional space into a pleasant and relaxing urban experience. Because, apparently, even a cigarette break can no longer just be a sad bench next to a trash can. Civilization has decided to evolve.
The landscaping concept aims to create an intimate, visually protected, and comfortable zone, using a contemporary plant vocabulary and carefully composed green volumes. Mineral planters with dark finishes clearly define the space and support dense arrangements of decorative vegetation, where small trees, evergreen species, and compact shrub masses contribute to a calm and refined atmosphere throughout the year.
The living walls and integrated metal structures add verticality and create a natural filter between the urban traffic area and the space dedicated to relaxation. The insertions of ornamental bamboo, sculptural conifers, and the varied textures of the plants offer visual depth and a pleasant contrast to the mineral materials and large glazings of the facade.
The wet-look paving and the warm tones of the outdoor ceiling complete the contemporary atmosphere of the design, while the ambient lighting highlights the vegetation and creates a premium image during the evening. The entire space was conceived to offer users a moment of retreat from the city’s dynamics, while at the same time preserving the energy and visual identity specific to the Las Vegas Games brand.
